Maranatha SC was not born in a boardroom or on the back of a big sponsorship deal. It was born on a dusty pitch in Kampala, from a simple conviction shared by a group of brothers: that football could be a vehicle for something far greater than goals and glory.
The name says it all. Maranatha — an Aramaic phrase meaning “Come, Lord” — is our declaration of faith and our north star. It shapes every training session, every match, every decision we make as a club. We are not just building footballers. We are building men of character.
Founded in 2021, Maranatha SC began with a handful of players, second-hand kit, and a vision that felt impossibly large for a team just finding its feet. But from day one, we trained with purpose and competed with integrity. Word spread. Players came. The squad grew. And slowly, a football club became a family.
Today, Maranatha SC fields a competitive senior squad, runs a youth development programme, and is making its presence felt across the Kampala football scene. But we never forget where we came from — or why we started. Every time we step on the pitch, we carry that original conviction with us: play hard, stay humble, honour God.
