The future of Maranatha SC is not just in the senior squad. It is in the twelve-year-olds who come to our youth sessions every Saturday morning, boots too big, dreams perfectly sized.
Our youth development programme launched eighteen months ago with a simple belief: the best time to develop a footballer is before the bad habits take hold. Technique, tactical understanding, physical literacy, mental resilience — these are all far easier to build in a young player than to correct in an adult one.
We run structured age-group sessions for U14s and U17s. Each group has a dedicated coach following a progressive curriculum — not just football drills, but character development built into every session. We talk about respect. We talk about leadership. We talk about what it means to be a good teammate before we talk about formations or finishing.
Several youth players have already trained with the senior squad. The quality coming through is genuinely exciting. More importantly, the character of the young players who come through our programme is something parents and teachers comment on regularly.
Investing in youth is the most important work we do. The championship trophies may come. The players developed here will last a lifetime.
